How long is a minute on the social network?
If the minute were the minute always and everywhere, then there would be no special concepts related to its duration. What, for example, does “facebook minute” mean?
You can go to the social network for one minute to read the messages. But some of them need to be answered, and new photos are carried away, and funny stories are read avidly, and this is really the evening in the courtyard, and we still have that very minute, which we found in the social network.
However, the phenomenon is not new. If the hostess ran out to the neighbor for a minute, she asked every half hour to stir the borsch. The word “minute” in this case meant not the movement of the second hand, but a request to forgive is not the worst sin.
Time is the most amazing concept. It harbors a lot of miracles.
The press is sometimes shaken by scandalous stories about marriages of young handsome men with ladies who are great for their great-grandmothers. My first thought: the guy marries wealth and will look forward to when it fully passes into his hands. If there is no wealth, then it is just a fool and no one else needed it for nothing. It happens, of course, and so, but more often, anyone who is personally acquainted with the brave granny, will admit that she will give a head start at the age of eighty and twenty. The character does not age over the years, the temperament does not disappear, and the experience is colossal, thanks to him the body can be in much better shape than the young beauties who did not sleep off from yesterday’s booze. If any infection spoiled all the young, why not enjoy life with a representative of healthy previous generations?
The passport age is nothing, and we will see this a little later, when VKontakte releases its captives, and we will see the mind like children from the jungle. Although why would this jungle release someone?
The jungle is a very rich development environment. There are so many different plants and insects! Life is full of endless variety. But the more difficult it becomes for a human society to return a lost child, the longer it has lived without people. In ten years the child will completely lose the ability to assimilate human articulate speech. It seems that we are already seeing something similar now.
Try to extract the child from the Internet and introduce it to poetry. Say “lol” – and again on the screen. Write in a letter “Mandelstam” – and this will be about the same as 在 中國 最長 的 單詞. The letter in electronic form, perhaps, will be read, but an envelope with the best words written in a calligraphic hand will fly into the waste-paper basket along with all sorts of advertisements.
Girls and social networks Try to extract from the Internet for a minute – and three seconds, while the request was heard, will be perceived as three hours. Launch the Internet for a minute, and two full working days will fly like three seconds. These are the paradoxes of time perception.
Or maybe it’s not about time, but about Internet addiction? Psychiatrists have become interested in it in the last decade of the recently completed century. In 1995, Ivan Goldberg described the distress and loss of status associated with excessive “consumption” of the Internet. A little earlier, Kimberley Young published a test questionnaire, which showed that a dependency was formed in about five percent of network users. Almost twenty years have passed since then. In 2009, the first hospital appeared in the USA, which is by no means empty. China was on the move and a year ahead in taking radical measures, but the drill and electric shocks that are used there, if you believe the press, do not want to call it treatment.
And what about us?
And we have educational and medical institutions, where they are not allowed with computer devices and mobile phones. But provide a very active and joyful life in the real world. Many children learn for the first time that sports and yard games are interesting, that an adult is a friend, not a pontoon, and indeed it seems to be born again. Children and teenagers have a place to find a normal human life, but how can young people be? Is there anything besides the army for them?
The modern way of life is when I woke up, vinternetled, fell asleep, and so on to infinity. Inhuman conditions of existence. With this we need to do something. But when parents beg to save at least the children, providing them with a normal, passionate life, the teachers say that the children “do not want”. Officials say there is no money. And the parents themselves very soon find consolation on the same Internet, looking for a moment and staying there before the completely unexpected pseudo maturity of the daughter and the involuntary care of the son in the army.
Minute on the web – and a lifetime outside it. Who else can make their own choices? Are there any?
